Dear Parents of Little Ones (Ages 7 and Under),
When your child dances, when they practice their dance, I invite you to let them be.Trust that they are learning in the way their body, heart, and spirit are ready to learn.
At Amna Dance, we hold a simple but powerful philosophy:Joy comes first. For our youngest dancers, it matters more to us that they feel connected to the joy of dance than to the final performance or “end result.”
I’ve seen children freeze up in class, afraid to move their bodies, not because of lack of talent, but because they sense the pressure to “get it right.”Sometimes that pressure comes from outside. Sometimes from within. But either way, it silences something sacred.
Please know that our classes are not about judgment. They are about celebration. They are about guidance, growth, and grace.
So if you remember nothing else, remember this:
Let them move.Let them trust their bodies.Let them dance their way into confidence.Still unsure if this approach works?
Watch the video below. These incredible dancers were once just like your little ones... exploring, wobbling, and learning through joy.
With trust and freedom, they grew not just into talented performers, but into confident, expressive, and deeply grounded human beings.
With love & deep trust,
— Amna

Most of these young women began dancing with us when they were just three or four years old. Look at them now.
