Not for Show—For Self

Most of us women weren’t taught to trust our bodies.

We were taught to perform.

To fit in.

To shrink.

And somewhere along the way, we disconnected from one of our greatest sources of power. Our bodies.

Especially as women and girls: our hips, our curves, our voices have been misunderstood, sexualized, or silenced.

But here’s the truth:

Our power doesn’t live in performance.

It lives in our playfulness.

In our free spirit.

In our hips.

In our feet.

In our breath.

In ancient times, dance wasn’t for show. It was sacred.

Belly dance, especially, was a way women celebrated life, birth, and transformation. It connected us to each other... and to ourselves.

There’s a quote I love:“When we move the hips, we free the heart.”

That’s what She Moves Summer Camp is about.

Dance, to me, is deeper than steps or rhythm—it's a grounding force that reconnects me to who I really am.

It’s how we feel when we see our reflection in the mirror.

It’s how we relate to every part of our body and spirit. It’s how we learn to trust the gaze—and the energy—of those who witness us.

She Moves is a space where girls, teens, and women can come home to themselves...through movement, journaling, and storytelling.

We will laugh.

We will dance.

We will write.

We will share.

And most of all... we will trust.

So we can remember who we are, without pressure to be anything we’re not.

Because alignment isn’t just posture.

It’s how we show up... in our choices, our relationships, and our lives.

So if you’re ready to move, reflect, and rise with us this summer...

Come join me at She Moves.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

— Rocky & Amna
